PARMA BREAST-CANCER SURVIVOR WANTS TO GIVE BACK TO GATHERING PLACE ...

Laura Yedlick wants to give back. She has gained so most over a past 4 years.

Yedlick, a Parma resident, is a breast-cancer survivor. Since her diagnosis, diagnosis and recovery, she has turn a opposite person.

Toward that end, Yedlick will minister to Race for a Place, a Jun 5 fundraiser by a Gathering Place, that supports cancer patients.

Participants will travel or run one mile or 5 kilometers from Beachwood Place, 26300 Cedar Road, in Beachwood.

More than 3,500 runners and walkers are approaching to take part. The eventuality is projected to lift about $350,000, that will assistance compensate for support services during a Gathering Place.

Yedlick is concerned to help. She perceived assistance from a Gathering Place after her diagnosis in 2007.

The diagnosis was a startle since Yedlick had always taken caring of herself. She stayed in figure and didn?t fume or drink.

Doctors achieved a lumpectomy. Yedlick went by 6 months of chemotherapy and deviation treatments. It was exhausting.

?I still had a fear,? Yedlick said. ?Did all work? It took during slightest a year to unequivocally ease down from everything.

?The fear never goes away,? Yedlick said. ?It?s always going to be there. You learn to live with that beast in we that was cancer.?

Today, Yedlick volunteers during Breast Connection, a Gathering Place program. She works one-on-one with women who have breast cancer and helps them get by emotionally.

Yedlick also bakes cookies for children of cancer patients in a Gathering Place?s Bridges program. And she has some-more compassion.

?I try not to decider people anymore,? Yedlick said. ?They could only be carrying a bad day for some reason we don?t know. we only try harder.?
